There are many great sources of information about the Byway. The Great Bend Convention & Visitors Bureau publishes a monthly newsletter. The local newspapers and magazines have several articles about the Byway and the activities and current news that effect the Byway and the Byway Communities. These include the following newspapers: Great Bend Tribune; Hoisington Dispatch; Ellinwood Leader; St. John News; Hutchinson News; Wichita Eagle and the following magazines: Kansas Magazine; Byways of Kansas; AAA Journeys Magazine. Limpkin sited a long way from natural habitat
A limpkin was sited at Cheyenne Bottoms, during the Labor Day weekend. This bird's native habitat is Florida down to the Caribbean, Mexico into South America.
